When I click "merge to printer" it only prints one label at a time. If I choose "update all labels" and choose "merge to printer" it prints two labels of one record. I also chose "complete the merge" then chose "merge to printer" still same thing. When I go to print preview I can only view one record if I do not choose "update all labels". If I choose "update all labels". I can view more than one record, however it is showing it printing two labels of the same record.PLEASE ADVISE!!!

I don't have an answer to your question. I would suggest that you take a
look at Cindy Meister's articles at
http://www.addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Fields. You may find an
answer there.

It sounds like you missed the step to replicate the mergefields to all of
the labels on the sheet.  See the following page on fellow MVP Graham
Mayor's website

When I replicated the labels it put the same information on all other labels that were viewed.

There should be a <<Next Record>> field in front of the first mergefield in
all of the labels except the first on the sheet.

I need to create a catalog -- two records per page, 70 pp total. I use
mail merge, trying it both as a catalog and as labels, followin
directions (including to put Next Record field in front of 2nd record.
Everything I have tried has failed. Results have included page 1 AA
page 2 BB, etc. or AB, BC, CD, or AB CD BC DE, ad infinitim. Never
ever has it worked, in many hours of concentrated effort. And I'm not
novice Word user.

I have to conclude that this feature does not work. One record pe
page, yes. Or one page of records. But after page 1, no.

If someone can demonstrate otherwise, I would like to see a
explanation.

I tried it in both Word 2000 and 2003

The easiest way to ensure two records per page is to create a label merge
using a label format with two labels per page.
Word will duplicate the required information in both cells. Where you appear
to be going wrong from then on is that you are not completing the merge. You
must merge to a new document or to the printer.
