I need to create a catalog -- two records per page, 70 pp total. I use
mail merge, trying it both as a catalog and as labels, followin
directions (including to put Next Record field in front of 2nd record.
Everything I have tried has failed. Results have included page 1 AA
page 2 BB, etc. or AB, BC, CD, or AB CD BC DE, ad infinitim. Never
ever has it worked, in many hours of concentrated effort. And I'm not
novice Word user.
I have to conclude that this feature does not work. One record pe
page, yes. Or one page of records. But after page 1, no.
If someone can demonstrate otherwise, I would like to see a
explanation.
I tried it in both Word 2000 and 2003

The easiest way to ensure two records per page is to create a label merge
using a label format with two labels per page.
Word will duplicate the required information in both cells. Where you appear
to be going wrong from then on is that you are not completing the merge. You
must merge to a new document or to the printer.
