Merge from Siebel to Word

I've setup a merge from Siebel (standard option) to Word. Where the word template is filled with th
address details from Siebel. Additionally I have written VBA code in the template to ask the user som
extra questions for data which cannot be taken from Siebel. So far so good
After the popup with questions (userfrom and docvariable) the merge is done and the Word documen
is ready. However when I switch back to Siebel and change screen or applet, my Word document (the merge
one) is being closed, losing all my data. I think that somehow the merge link between Siebel and Word stil
stands and is not being broken. I can instruct the users to first save the file with another name and then
continue editing the document but is not userfriendly
I tried to write some instructions in VBA but the VBA code is not inherited to the merged Word-document, s
I got no control on that part

Does anyone have a solution or struggles with the same

Hi =?Utf-8?B?UGlldGVyIFZvZ2VsYWFy?=,

I think you might need to contact Siebel about this (never heard of it, BTW) to
get a good and definite answer. What I can say/suggest

1. Depending on the version of Word, there may or may not be a link back to that
original, mail merge main doc template.

2. Even if there is, the link is not 100% complete following mail merge.

3. So, what usually works (again, depending on the version) is to use a macro to
actually execute the mail merge, and have it explicitly set the link back to the
template. At this time, it could also force a save-to-disk, BTW. Or show the user
the Save As dialog box.
