Hi Sherry,

I'm not familiar with the term "merge print form". Is this
a form with form fields, or a mail merge main document?

Does or has this file ever contained macros? Elements from
the Controls Toolbox?

What is your Macro security setting (Tools/Macros/Security)?

it is a mail merge main document.
security is low.
after trying to figure it out, i think the problem is -
the document is using CIC signit for word, this application
has a template with it, but i can not open the template
without a password. so i'm not real sure this is the
problem.i closed the controls toolbox and reset then saved
my document but next time i open it design mode is opened.
can i maybe create an on open macro to close the design
mode, if so how?

Hi Sherry,

I think you'll need to contact the people who provided the
template. Since macro security shouldn't be triggering, it
sounds like either
   1. The internal structure has been damaged
   2. The programmers left some code windows open in the VB
IDE (the place where one writes the code)

In either case, one would have to be able to open the
template, which means only someone with the password can
help.
