Does anyone know how to suppress blank lines in a Word
2002 mail merge?

Specifically, we're trying to keep blank lines from
appearing when the merged record has a blank "address2"
line.

If I remember correctly, in earlier versions this was a
simple checkbox...

Hi Linda,

Word 2002 should be suppressing these by default. But it
won't if there's ANYTHING besides the mail merge field in
the paragraph; this includes IF fields. (I know, this
worked in earlier versions!)

You can find the checkbox in the older interfaces. There's
a table of these, and instructions on how to get them in
the Word 2002 section of my website's mail merge FAQ. But
that won't make any difference under the above
circumstances.
