Thanks Doug! I tried what he suggested and I got an error message(could not register tasks)...so it couldn't complete the task.....so now I am stuck......I don't understand...I know I havve the Works(which is apparently where my Word is from).....but I've installed Office as well......why isn't there Word from there?....in addition to or instead of....the Works one
I have gotten the new Office(and XP__I have Me now-- and plan to up grade soon......should I uninstall Works and reinstall Office before I upgrade?......

Sounds like you have screwed this royally :(
However you proceed, you are going to have to uninstall the Works add-in or
it will still be there causing problems in the future.
It seems that the Office installation has made a mess of the Works
installation and is preventing you from uninstalling. You will probably have
to uninstall Office, then reinstall the Works suite which will restore the
pointers in the registry, then uninstall the Works add-in and finally
reinstall Office.
When you get around to installing Windows XP, I would suggest you reformat
and start from scratch rather than try upgrading.

Thanks Graham....Only I can do this "royally"......it is ALWAYS "operator error"(my sis in law's term for my mistakes)...at least I was smart enough to find this place
I never can do something easily....when I can do it the hard way! LOL
