Hi Boris,

I was hoping someone with actual access to WSS might answer
here, but apparently there's no one like that around :-)

My guess is, the answer is "no" (or, at least, "not yet"). Word
is very picky about what it will recognize as valid data
sources. For one thing, it requires a file, saved to a
traditional file path; it can't use URLs, for example, nor can
it use data sources in memory. So, while I'm unfamiliar with how
one navigates to a WSS location :-), I'm guessing it falls into
the "URL" category, and is therefore "invisible" to Word
mail-merge.

Does the WSS functionality give you an option to export such a
list to a separate file as an HTML table, or delimited text?

Cindy, thanks for the tip. Actually WSS can export to linked table in excel.
This is quite a good solution. Too bad it doesn't take data directly from
the list.

Thanks again!
