Please help:

{ HYPERLINK "{ mergefield ClientURL }" } produces no
display text in a Word 2002 document.

Right click menu will edit, select, open, copy, remove
the hyperlink. Edit Hyperlink dialog window shows the url
for the proper merge record in the display text and
address fields.

Clicking OK there changes the field code to {
HYPERLINK "http://www.leasetra....htm" } and displays the
same text in the document. The url remains static as
other merge records are selected from then on.

The datasource is an Excel workbook. SP3 is installed. No
outstanding updates.

Any help correcting the problem or any alternative method
of producing an active/unique hyperlink per merge record
will be greatly appreciated.

Interesting. In my experience, it usually does, if you
follow these steps:
   - Set up the merge document with everything except the
hyperlink
   - When you're sure it's all good, create the hyperlink
as you show, above
   - Do NOT toggle the field codes off
   - merge to a new document
   - Ctrl+A, F9 to force the fields to update

Now toggle the field codes
