Is it possible to create a mail merge doc attached to
several databases or does it have to be just one?  Ta

Mail merge can be attached to only one.

If you're trying to display a table of data within a merge
document, you can use a DATABASE field (Database toolbar,
Insert database button) to do so, however.

Perhaps if you explain in a bit more detail what you want
to accomplish?

Thanks Cindy

No, not display data within, just attach and merge to
several databases, which obviously cannot be done.  Many
thanks for replying!

Well, depending on the data source, there might be a way to
work around it... (For example, in Access I could use a
Union query to link tables. Something similar can be done
with Excel in MS Query.)

I have the same question come up  today.
Mail merge Word template shows an invoice #, # of cartons
shipped, destination address and telephone number.

Database1= each store's address / tel #  with a unique
store ID

Database2 = invoice #, # of cartons shipped and same
unique ID for a store applies.

Can the mail merge doc look into Database2 for the Unique
ID and based on that ID# pull in the address / tel # from
Database 1 and the invoice # and # of cartons shipped from
Database2?

Thanks muchly!

The answer is the same, only one datasource can be used.  In your case
however, a simple select query in Access can be used to combine the data
from the two tables by linking them on the ID field and you can then use
that query as the datasource.
