Hi all,

I have a mailmerge field that has a name in this format:

Smith, Bob

and I'd like to rearrange it to say "Bob Smith".  Does anyone know a
(non-programmatic!) way to parse this field and get it the way I'd
like it?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Maureen,

Use a wildcard Edit Replace with

(<*>), (<*>)

in the "Find what:" control, and

\2 \1

in the "Replace with:" control

Note that there is a space after the comma and between the 2 and the \

See the article "Finding and replacing characters using wildcards" at:

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/UsingWildcards.htm

It gives a very similar example.
