I'm trying to do a directory merge from an Excel spreadsheet. The data
is actually event/calendar information (date, title, description,
location, etc.) that I want to output in a particular format to a Word
document.
I'd like to be able to display a given date only once. So, for
example, if there are mutliple records for August 20, 2003, the date
field only appears in the Word document once followed by a list of the
events for that date.
Is there anyway for me to tell Word to supress the output of a field
based on if it's the same as a field in a previous record?
TIA,

Hi Martha,
See the discussion in the "Special merges" section of my website's mail
merge FAQ. It can be done, but requires some work...
