I have a user who has a document with some graphics in it
and is using an Excel merge file with about 8000 records.
We are getting errors sending to a printer. If I print to
a file, it takes over 10 hours to process and produces a
file that is over 2 gig in size. Is this characteristic
of the application or am I doing something wrong.

I guess that is probably to be expected.  If some graphis means two
graphics, then what you are trying to do is produce a document that contains
16,000 graphics.  If its 3, then there will be 24,000

Have you tried unchecking the "Background" printing option under
Tools>Options>Print and then executing the merge to the printer.  I expect
it still will take quite a while to print though, but it may overcome the
error problem.
