Lock down text forms fields

I am creating a form using text forms fields (Word 2000).
When two forms fields occupy the same line one moves right
when the one on the left is being typed into.

Is there a way to lock down the location of these fields
so that the overall formatting of the document doesn't
change? These forms fields work fine as long as I put them
on their own line but when they share a line it's chaos.

TIA - Rick

Try making a table with no borders (so it's invisible)...Putting the fields
in individual cells should keep them from moving.

HTH,
Kim
