Hi

I have a long document where the same data has to be
retyped throughout in different places. I thought i would
be able to use form fields and bookmarks to copy the entry
the first time i enter it to all the other fields.

As someone who spends most of his time in Excel, i am
having trouble getting started with this in Word. Can
someone please put me on the right track?

Thanks in advance

Richard

Richard,

Double click the formfield and in the field settings
window note the bookmark name (change it too if you want)
and check the calculate on exit option.

For each place in the document you want the data repeated,
use a REF field.  For example if your formfield bookmark
is Name then use { Name }. The { } is entered with CTRL+F9
