Updating ftp includetext field

Hi all,

I am having problem updating includetext fields that point
to  a file on a remote ftp server. Since the server
requires authentication, when I update a field, I have to
enter the login information. However, I have a macro that
needs to update these fields. Since the macro cannot log on
to the server, the field just has an error message saying
"Error! Not a valid filename."

Any ideas how I could have the macro update these ftp fields?

Thank you,

Has

Unfortunately, using the traditional ftp URL syntax

ftp://username:password@ftp.whatever.xxx

does not work. The only think I can think of would be to use a Sendkeys type
of approach to fill out the dialog box, and even if you can do that, you
still have to deal with the situation where Word has cached the document and
does not display the dialog.

Yes, I have already tried changing the ftp path to include
the username and password, and as you said, that does not work.

I will see if I can detect the messagebox and fill it in if
it exists, that might work.

Thank you,
