Merge Data from Access 2002 Losing Formatting

Hi,

I'm trying to run a Mail Merge that grabs data from an
Access 2002 (I'm using Word 2002) database.  It all works
fine except for the fact that data that is formatted as
Currency in the database comes into the Merge document as a
plain number.

I've checked the fields in Access in all their
incarnations, especially the table that the merge data is
sourced from, and it all appears as Currency.

In the database (in the table that holds the merge source
data) a field will display:
$360.00
...But when this field is merged into a Word document it
displays:
360

Also, the date in a particular field displays backwards
(ie. Backwards to an Australian = 2003-7-29 00:00:00) when
merged with Word, and a field that only holds the time in
the database also displays in the merge document in the
above date format.

Many thanks in advance for any assistance you're able to
provide.

Kind regards,
Ben Johnson

Access does not actually store the data in that format.  To get the desired
formatting in a Word document into which the data is merged, it is necessary
to add formatting switches to the mergefields.

See "Formatting Word fields with switches" on fellow MVP Graham Mayor's
website at

http://www.gmayor.com/formatting_word_fields.htm

For the date issue, see the "Dates: day/month reversed" item under the
"Connection methods" topic of the "Mail merge in Word 2002"  section of
fellow MVP Cindy Meister's website at

Thanks very much Doug - this was perfect.
