(If this is not the right Newsgroup, can you show me
where I should post this question?)
How can I merge a Visio document with an Excel database?
It would be an Org Chart where I would enter mergefields
into each box.

As far as I know, there is no built-in way to do a mailmerge where the
equivalent of a "mail merge main document" is a Visio document. However, you
might be able to use VBA to "roll your own" merge in Visio. Unfortunately
a.I'm not that up-to-date with Visio
b. this is not the right group - I suggest you try one of the visio groups-
not sure which are current but the following pop up in my list:
microsoft.public.visio
microsoft.public.visio.general
microsoft.public.visio.developer
microsoft.public.visio.developer.vba
(I'd probably start with the last of those and see what response I got).

>I'm not a Visio superuser, but I have created charts by
using the org chart wizard in Visio and then
inserting/mapping the excel fields in the wizard. It's
important to make sure that each person on the org chart
has a supervisor and that the top level supervisor has
blank for his/her supervisor. This wizard might only be
availalbe with 2003 though.
