Since I updated to Office 2003 SP1 I have a really annoying problem.

I have a lot of documents with embedded IF... THEN... ELS
constructions. Since the update an error occurs randomly and it depend
from document to document. I know this doens't make it easy to find
solution, that's why I'm willing to email you a document with (
simple) IF...THEN ... ELSE construction. (if you ask me to of cours
;-) )

=> When I open this document, select all, right-click and selec
'update fields', something strange happens : Word deletes the las
double qoute ("). When I repeat this action, "-s keep on disappearing
And that makes my document useless of course.

The documents where this construction is used in, are Norma
Word-documents, the mailmerge is done with an VBA-macro from a
external application. Some of the documents were made in Word 97, som
others in Word 2000 and some others in Word 2003. I can not say whic
document was made with which Word-version

Any solutions please ?

Ger
