Number format in merged document

Word is converting and displaying numbers with a simple
2-place decimal (.025) from the data source to exponential
notation (2.5000000000000001E-2) in the merge document.

I've changed the source format to text, to number with 2
decimal places, to general format and it has no affect.  It
seems to only matter for numbers that round up.  That is,
.023 and .024 display correctly in the word doc, but .025
changes format.

Why is this happening?  How can I fix it?

I don't know why the document was doing this, but I think I
found a way to stop it.  It's a work around, not a solution.

I added a dummy row of data with TEXT, rather than numbers.
And all the values went back to what they should have
been.  Not very scientific, but as long as it works, I
don't care! :o

Use a number switch on the field \# "#.000"
