Hi
I am using Word XP. I have read a few of the questions
and answers relating to including pictures in your mail
merged document but none of these seem to work - am I
doing something silly.
My data source contains text and a possible 3 pictures,
the picture fields are simply called pic1, pic2 and pic3
I have inserted a hyperlink into the datasource fields to
the relevant photographs.
In my main document I have inserted the following fields
around my document.
{INCLUDEPICTURE "{ MERGEFIELD pic1 }"}
{INCLUDEPICTURE "{ MERGEFIELD pic2 }"}
{INCLUDEPICTURE "{ MERGEFIELD pic3 }"}
the information I have read suggested there may be a
problem with the file types, I have bitmaps, gifs & jpegs,
so this souldn't be a problem.
When I have inserted the field codes sometimes the
placeholder of the field shows as a red cross picture
frame, sometimes it shows as an object frame.
No pictures (only picture frames) show upon merge to a new
doc.
Again, with reference to other queries, when the photos
did not show in the completed merge document I tried F9 on
all pictures.
What am I doing wrong?? I know I am so near yet so far....
Thanks very much.
Kerry.

See the "Graphics from database " item under the "Special merges" section of

Note that you must use \\ to separate the parts of the
drive:\\path\\filename in the data source.
