Mail Merge

I get this message when I try to do a mail merge using a
MS Access Database.

"The merged documents contain unmarked changes. Do you
want to merge up to the first untracked change?"

Even before I accessed MS Solutions, I made sure that the
document tracking functions were off and that I had
accepted all changes. Clipit says that I had no changes
to accept.  I did this for all three categories in the
Accept or Reject Changes program.  That did not work.
Then I tried to merge into a new, blank document and got
the same message.  I have done everything in the MS
solutions information sheet and I still cannot merge my
documents.  I am not new at this function and have lots
of experience with Word and Access but this is the first
time I have had this problem.  Suggestions or help anyone?
Thanks,
MaryD

There maybe some form of document corruption going on.  Try copying and
pasting everything but the final paragraph mark into a new document.

Mr. Robbins,
Thank you for your reply. I have tried your suggestion
and I get the same message. I have deleted everything and
tried merging - it didn't work. I have set up a mail
merge into a completely new, blank document - it didn't
work. I have pulled up old mail mergers that I know
worked and get the same message.  I have removed all
links from the document - I get the same message. I have
tried everything I can think of and I still get the same
message. Now I have done a detect and repair and rebooted
again and I still get the same message.  I am at my wits
end with this thing.  Thanks for your help.

Hi Mary

One thing I haven't noticed in your list of things you've
tried is "safe mode". Try
   - START/Rund
   - type: winword.exe /a
   - OK; Word should start (but it will look "funny")
   - now try linking to any data source and merging, using
the mail merge tools in Word (I have no idea what you mean
with "Microsoft Solutions", but let's keep anything non-Word
out of the equation for the moment)

(Note: which version of Word are we dealing with? What's
your data source?)
