locked fields during merge

I am trying to do an email merge between word and
outlook, both 2003. I have used it succesfully in the
past but am getting message that Word found locked fields
during the update. There are no locked fields that I know
of.

Ctrl+A, Ctrl+Shift+F11 would unlock any locked fields.

If that doesn't help, try copying all the text except the
last paragraph mark into a new document, link this to the
data source, and test whether it works correctly, now.
