Why does MS only talk about "mail merges" and doesn't
mention the Database toolbar at all? I'm importing info
from an Excel spreadsheet using the Database toolbar, and
anytime I have an issue, I have a hard time finding help
because everywhere I look the term "mail merge" is used.
I can't even find mention anywhere of the Database
toolbar, which I find odd.

Pardon the rant.
Thx.

No idea, but if I had to guess, they probably don't think of Word as being a
"data presentation" program, preferring to encourage end users towards Excel
or Access depending on complexity of their data/application, and developers
towards solutions based on SQL, XML, XSLT and HTML.They may also assume that
anyone trying to include "data from databases" in their Word
documents/applications is likely to discover stuff such as the Database
toolbar and DATABASE field for themselves.
