When trying to merge a large data file I get the following error.

'Word could not finish merging these documents or inserting this database'.

Does anyone know what could have caused this and how to fix the problem.
The mail merge gets up to about 200 records before it crashes out.

Thanks.

Hi Gabriel,

200 records shouldn't be a problem, normally.

1. Which version of Word?

2. Which version of Windows?

3. What type of file is the data file? Excel, Access, plain text, other?

4. How many fields does it contain?

5. Does the main merge document contain things other than text and merge
fields? Pictures? Embedded OLE objects? Other?

6. Are you merging to the printer or a new document? If you haven't already
done so, try merging to the other destination and see if that runs
differently.

7. After roughly how many records is the message appearing?
