I have a merge document created in Word 2000 that pulls data from a
parameter query in Access 2000. The process works fine in Word 2000.
Not so for Word 2003. When I open the document through Word 2003, I
get the expected query prompt for the patient's first and last name
(the parameter). However, when the word doc finishes opening, it
displays information for the first patient in the list, not the one
I've entered parameters for.

As I said, the merge works correctly in Word 2000, but not in 2003.
Also, the query itself is working fine in Access.

Hi Lee,

In Word, from the Tools menu, select Options and then go to the General tab
and check the box against "Confirm conversions at open"

Then when you attach the data source to the main document, you will be
present with options for the type of connection to make.  Select DDE and try
that.
