how do i format numbers in merged data  from excel

In merging invoice data from an excel spreadsheet to a word document it has
worked except whole number values exclude zeroes to the right of the decimal
point and single digit decimal values exclude the final zero
How do you format the word document to restore the normal cuirrenct display
of two decimal points
