2003 Word mail merge doc with data source from text file (Access mdb export). When I click on "merge to new document", I get an error: "Word found locked fields during the update. Word cannot update locked fields." Microsoft website says to unlock fields with Ctrl-Shift-F11. I did that on all fields and I still get the same message. I have one field - <<BadgeName>> followed by <<NextRecord>>. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. pendragon Update - I had inserted a jpeg into the header and footer. When I selected the entire document, including in the header/footer, and unlocked fields, it removed the jpegs and proceeded with the merge without error.
