zipcodes beginning with 0 only showing the zero

I have a data file in excel with names, addresses, etc. I am in Word doing a
mail merge when I attempt to use this list all of the zipcodes that begin
with a zero are appearing as only a zero. The remaining numbers are missing.
In excel it appears correct. I have the numbers listed as text.
