I need to know how to edit the address block in a mail merge. I want to
insert a field within the address block (not outside of it, which I know how
to do), but I don't see that MS gives a way to do that. I have tried matching
fields, but that does not necessitate it being included in the address block.
For instance, if I want to include a customer ID under an addressee's name,
above the address, how would I do that? Thank you.

I have never found a reason to use the Address Block.  Just use the
individual mergefields in the arrangement that suits your fancy.
