Word2003  Mail Merge is under utilizing the CPU

It seems the Mail Merge engine is not utilizing the available CPU efficiently.
We are manually merging a Word template with Text Data Source and it is
taking more than an hour to complete the merge.

Any help in optimizing the CPU allocation will be much appreciated.

The CPU has little to do with it. The speed of a merge will largely depend
on the size of the database and the print spooler.
