Going crazy here trying to create mail merge documents. Am using a
spreadsheet as the MM data, but in fields containing a number, the software
is altering the number of decimal points independent of what is actually in
the spreadsheet. ie, 75.3 becomes 75.30000000002, etc. Nothing I do inside
the spreadsheet alters this (even changing the field to a text field), and
attempting to edit the fields once the data source is opened is also
unsuccessful. This is very puzzing, because I have other MM documents that I
use on a continuing basis which open the spreadsheet at the same time as the
document is first opened and permits editing on the spot. Bottom line: I
cannot get into the spreadsheet which is attached to this MM document for
editing. When I click on the "Mail Merge Recipients" icon, the "Edit" button
is greyed out.
Help!

Hi Randy,
You can fix this by adding a numeric picture switch to your MERGEFIELDs.
See "Formatting Word fields with switches" on fellow Graham Mayor's website
