Hi:
I have just spent several hours working out how to format numerical fields
coming from Excel so I can report scores on exams. (i.e, adding \##0.0 to
the
field code to round to one decimal).
However, all fields I import end up with a grey highlight. This prints out
onto the final word document.
I cannot find how to insert a field without this background and I can't get
rid of it using anything I can find in the Format area including borders and
shading in Word.
Does anyone have a solution?
Thank you

The shading applied to fields doesn't print - unless you apply shading to
it. It is controlled by tools > options > view
