word 2002 mail merge from excel file, some fields come over with 20 decimal
places instead of what's in the cells of excel which is 4 decimal places. I
have tried formatting in execl as well as round function and nothing works. I
have tried doing same thing in word 200 and it works fine.

Word 2000 and 2002 use different methods of connection to their data files
for mail mrge. In this instance you need a formatting switch on the Word
field - http://www.gmayor.com/formatting_word_fields.htm
