Trying to do a simple mail merge in Word 2000 which I've had set up for
years. My usual data source is an Excel spreadsheet. However, when I try to
change the data source (Tools/Mail Merge/Get Data/Open Data Source) to
another Excel spreadsheet, it simply says 'Word was unable to open the data
source'.

It works fine with every other Excel spreadsheet I have - it's just this one
which won't work.

Any ideas? I'd be very grateful.
Thanks.

Hi =?Utf-8?B?RWQgV2lsbGlhbXNvbg==?=,

It's possible that the Excel workbook's file structure is damaged; it doesn't
happen often, but it's not unknown.

If you copy/paste the cells to a new workbook, will mail merge link to it? If
not you can try copying/pasting to Word (use paste special and paste in RTF
format), then copy/paste that into a new Excel workbook.
