Hi,

I'm wondering if this is a known problem, something others have encountered,
or something specific to us.

Q: Has anyone else run into problems with creating a Mail Merge using ODBC
datasources from Office XP?

Office XP appears to have problems opening an ODBC source. We have tried
several sources including dBase. When we open the source, it doesn't list
the fields correctly and displays error messages about records being
invalid. We can open the source(s) in other applications fine and can open
it directly (without the ODBC) source and it then sees it fine.

Thanks,

Brett

Hi Brett,

I was hoping Peter Jamieson would pick this up, as he definitely has more
experience with ODBC data sources than I (or any of the other regulars, here).

FWIW, I can't recall ever encountering anything like you describe. When you
say "open it directly (without the ODBC)" do you mean you're using the default
OLE DB to connect? What IS the actual data source file format? With what other
applications have you successfully opened/viewed it in, using ODBC?
