I can not find a way to turn off the print postage op. when doing a mail
merge. I have stamps.com on my system.
Presumably it works by means of an add-in - uncheck the add-in in tools >
templates and add-ins (or move the add-in template to a folder that is not
the Word or Office startup folder and add it via tools > templates and
add-pins. You can then switch on the template when you need it instead of
switching it off when you don't).

If it is a COM add-in you'll have to uninstall it.
