I have Word 2000, came bundled with Works Suite on Dell
PC. I have never used Mail Merge, but when I access the
Tools Menu, the Mail Merge line repeats multiple times.
Each time I use the Tools menu, the number of lines of
Mail Merge grows. Dell could not help me. I'm stumped.
Any suggestions will be very welcome. Thanks, Paul

Hi Paul,
It has to do with Word having been installed as part of
Works suite, but you're trying to use it stand-alone. The
Works Suite Addin is responsible for the behavior you're
seeing.
There may be an article about this at mvps.org/word. This
KB article will also tell you some things:

This is probably a problem to do with a Works Add-in. There is more info at
WD2000: Works 2000 Adds Functionality to Word 2000:

You may also have togo into Word Tools|Customize and drag all the unwanted
menu options off the menu.
At least one person has reported that they were only finally able to solve
this problem by finding and renaming their old Word Normal.dot template and
letting Word create a new one.
