I keep getting the error messagewhen I use Word envelope address book "you
must log onto microsoft exchange to access address book" I made the outlook
the default mail server but still no luck on getting it working.
Does anyone know what I should do to correct this??

I suggest you look at

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;224052

(I doubt if anyone here will be able to provide any further insight, but
hope I will be proved wrong!)

You really need to make Outlook the default address book handler (possibly
as well as doing what you have already done). You will almost certainly need
to restart Windows for the changes to work probably.

Peter,
Thanks for the help,  I resolved the issues by setting up a mail merge  in
Word which gave me the option to use Outlook contacts as the  address book
default. This was the issue but there was no path to get there because all
the set ups had Outlook as a default except this hidden one.
Thanks again for you help.
