How can i get the jammed paper out of my fax machine?

I have a new fax machine and i seem to have jammed paper inside so when i try
to print something out it says to lift up the cover of the fax machine and
take out the jammed paper but when i lift the cover up i don't see any paper.
What can i do?

What on earth has this to do with Microsoft Word mail merge?

Take the machine back where you bought it and get it fixed under warranty.
