Mail merge does not complete or freezes

When attempting to complete a mail merge (OS W2K, W2K)
from an outside source, mail merge does not complete.
However, I can complete the mail merge successfully in OS
W98, W97). Any thoughts as to why mail merge successfully
generates in the lesser release?

What do you mean with "outside source"? Are you getting any
kind of error messages?
