Can I attach a .pdf (or any other) file to an e-mail merge?

I was attempting to send a number of prospective employers my resume as an
attachment during a mail merge and I cannot find a place where to specify the
file location for the attachment during the mail merge. Is this possible and
if so how can I accomplish this. Thank you in advance for any help.
