How do you add a label product to mail merge?

I have an Avery label that is not currently listed on my mail merge label
choices. Is there a way to add it to that list? I can download the
template, but this does not help with mail merge.

You can't add it to the list, but you can use it. The template will give you
a single page of labels. Tell the merge process to treat this as a label
merge document (from the document type button on the merge toolbar). Attach
your data file them merge away -
