I am trying to use mail merge on a letter. It does not
recognise outlook express contacts folder as a data base.
Is there a simple way to convert this list of addresses to
a data base that word 2000 or word XP mail merge will
recognise.

You have to export the contents of the Outlook Express address book (use
Outlook Express File|Export|Address book|Text file (comma separated values),
and use the exported fiel as the data source for the merge.
