runtime error on microsoft word

I keep losing documents just a few minutes into starting them - a box appears
with runtime error on it and then the document is lost - any ideas on what a
runtime error is and how to correct it

You need to note down the exact error message and post it with your question.
And you need to ask in the proper newsgroup for errors:
