Depends on the version of Word, of MDAC, and the type of data source. The
"official" limit has always been 255. There was a loop-hole in that for some
types of data sources, with some versions of Word. The loop-hole was closed
in the original release of Word 2000. There was such an uproar that is was
re-opened again for some types of data; and as I recall, the limit for this
new loophole is some 16,000 characters (although it might be 32,000).
