Hi All,

I created several entries for the AutoText so I have about 15 fields in the
document. When I right click mouse I get the specific drop down list. But
when I copy this document to another computer and load it via office XP
those entries are no longer appear in the document and Auto text shows all
other words from different Entries(AutoText List). I need to know how to
make those entries created in a different computer to appear in the current
document which was copied from a different computer.

I appreciate any imput.

Thanks,

Doron

The autotexts are placed in a /template/  (typically normal.dot). If they
are in a template other than normal.dot, just copy the template (which you
will need anyway).

To copy them to another computer, you can for example
a. create another template (e.g. start with a blank document, and File|Save
As a .dot/template.
b. select the Tools|Templates and Addins option and click the Organizer
button. You should see the normal template and your new template listed.
c. click the Autotext tab.You should see the autotexts that are in
Normal.dot. Copy them to your new template.
d. copy the new template to the new computer

At this point, technically speaking you have two options. You can either
a. attach your document to the new template on all the machines where it
should be used or
b. using the organizer, copy the autotexts from your new template to the
normal.dot on each computer that will use the autotexts.

There are a lot of good reasons to choose (b) rather than (a). Pity you
can't put autotexts n documents.
