This may not be the case but I wonder if you have included the Word field
Next Record in your merge set-up.

I have been having exactly the same problems, luckily I have access to some
PC's which still use windows 95 and 98, and doing the first part of the mail
merge on those machines doesnt create any problems. However when I use
windows 2000 or above, all my formats and amendments get overridden. As yet
no one has been able to provide a simple answer, without having to use
complicated coding.
If you do get a decent answer, please let me know !!

Your problem does not sound like it is the same as Deborah's. But then I
can't tell exactly what your problem is. If you can explain it in more
detail, someone should be able to help you.
