I have created an html file (as output from a web generated form,) in proper
tab delimited format for use as input to a word merge document.  I can open
this web document from word,  save it locally, and use it in my  merge
template without difficulty, but when I try to use it directy from the web
site, using the correct url, I get "invalid filename" error.

Mail merge supports only the "old-fashioned" types of file paths, not URLs.
