In Word, How do I change all caps to initial caps?

We run several mail merges where the data for the addresses and names come
into the letters as all caps and the body of the letters are initial caps.
Is there a way that we can convert (in Word) all caps to initial caps without
retyping the names and addresses?

Try adding the \*Caps switch to your field:

{MERGEFIELD fieldname \*Caps}

Unfortunately that will probably not work for reasons that are not entirely
clear -

{MERGEFIELD fieldname \*Lower \*Caps} should work if the previous suggestion
doesn't. See http://www.gmayor.com/formatting_word_fields.htm

Thanks, we will look into these two possible solutions and give them a try.

Thank you for your information.  Based on the information you provided, we
have found a way of adding a code to our query, that converts all caps from
programming to initial caps in the mail merge.  Our customer letters look
slick!  Thank you again!
