Mail Merge To Doc Problem

Hi
I m using C# to prepare a mail merge document.After merging I m facing
following problems (New to Word Programming):
Data source is a text file that has Tab seperated field name and values
1-After merging View data button on mail merge toolbar does not get
enable, Why is so ?
2-After merging if some fields does not have any value it displays the
field name in the doucument,Why is so ? Like <<Name>> if there is no
value it displays after merging Name in the document.
Plz help me whatis reason of this abnormal megre :<

The View data button is only enabled when the mailmerge main document is
active with a data source attached to it. It will not be enabled when the
active document is the document created by executing the merge.

For you field problem are you sure that the field names in the document and
the data source match? What happens if you click on one of the "missed"
fields and press F9?
