Merge to Print is dropping characters

I can merge to a new document and data in from the if,then,else statement
prints.  If I merge to printer, the data from the if, then,else statement
does not print.

Is the Update Fields option set under Tools>Options>Print?

It didn't help.  Thanks anyway.  FYI, this merge form workded fine with
Office 2000.

From the Tools menu, select Options and then go the Print tab and uncheck
the Background printing item
